the track of the storm takes it up into northern louisiana today and tomorrow into arkansas and then into missouri on saturday and sunday into illinois and indiana. then late on sunday, perhaps into monday morning, starting to come close to our metro area, and out ahead of that, we'll get increasing moisture and maybe some tropical showers, but not today. clear, dry, high pressure over us now. just a few passing clouds coming through with that full moon. i winked at the moon for neil armstrong this morning. and we will have that full moon in our western sky through the morning hours and lots of areas where it's down into the 50s. quite a chilly start. cumberland's only 55 right now, while in montgomery, arlington, fairfax, prince george's counties, most of those locations in just the low and mid-60s. for the morning commute, 6:00 a.m., cool and calm, we'll be in the 60s through much of the area by 6:00 a.m. then by noontime, for your lunch hour, we'll be in the low to mid-80s, so quite a rapid warm-up, but we'll have low humidity and lots of sunshine. during the rest of the afternoon

this is wrapping around and now just beginning to move up into arkansas, and the latest conditions now, the center of circulati circulation, it's about 7,500 miles northwest of new orleans, where the rain has ended and the peak winds are now only around 45 miles an hour. the track, though, takes it into northern louisiana later today and then across arkansas, into missouri, illinois, indiana, and yes, getting close to us here, unfortunately, for our labor day weekend. looks like we could get some tropical showers, but certainly no flooding. as we take a look at temperatures now under a clear sky, it is downright chilly! in fact, out in the shenandoah valley, even in the mountains, most locations are in the 50s. in fairfax, arlington, prince george's, montgomery counties, only near 60 degrees now. reagan national in the warmer waters of the potomac near 70, but a rapid warm-up. we'll be into the upper 80s by mid-afternoon, lots of sun, low humidity. more of the some tomorrow, getting hotter but up on saturday, near 90 with clouds ahead of that, possibly remnants of isaac coming through
